The work titled Confession is based on a fiction that we are used to seeing frequently in the news broadcasts of the single-channel era of Turkish television. The scene where the faces of criminals, terrorists or smugglers, are censored in front of the Turkish flag when they are caught and the crime tools and materials are displayed on a table is the basic starting point of the work titled Confession. In the work prepared using molds instead of the stencil itself, which is an art practice in the public sphere as a method, we see a person standing in front of the Turkish flag with different gestures and expressions. When we look at the molds carefully, we see regretful expressions in some scenes, confident and dominant expressions in some scenes and ambiguous expressions in others, where it is not clear whether the victim is the victim or the person in power or authority. The portrait that has taken on these different identities actually belongs to the artist himself.
